    01Overview

Weight loss that works with your biology

GLP-1 medications support meaningful weight loss in appropriate candidates by quieting appetite, increasing fullness, and helping you eat less without constant hunger. At Evidence MD this is a physician-supervised medical program: we review your health history and labs, confirm you are a safe candidate, start at a low dose, titrate upward gradually, and check in monthly, paired with nutrition and lifestyle guidance. Depending on your health profile and goals, your provider prescribes either semaglutide (a single GLP-1 pathway) or tirzepatide (a dual GLP-1 and GIP pathway). This is medicine, not a mail-order shortcut.

    The honest version

This is not a quick fix, and we do not promise a number. Results depend on consistent weekly dosing plus real nutrition and activity changes, and they build over months. There are common, usually mild GI side effects early on, and the medication works while you are on it: appetite and weight can return after stopping, so we plan for the long term.

It is also not for everyone, and our required screening exists to confirm it is safe for you.

    02
    02How it works

    The science, in plain terms

GLP-1 medications mimic GLP-1, a hormone your gut releases after eating. They act on appetite centers in the brain to reduce hunger and cravings, increase the feeling of fullness so you are satisfied on less food, and slow gastric emptying so food stays in the stomach longer. They also improve how your body handles blood sugar.

Semaglutide activates the single GLP-1 pathway. Tirzepatide is a dual agonist: it activates GLP-1 plus a second pathway, GIP, which can give a stronger effect on appetite and satiety for some people. Both are started low and titrated upward over weeks so the body adjusts and side effects stay manageable, and both work best combined with nutrition and activity changes under provider supervision.
