The science, in plain terms
Laser hair removal relies on selective photothermolysis: the laser emits light that is preferentially absorbed by melanin, the pigment concentrated in the hair shaft and follicle. That light converts to heat, which damages the follicle and its regenerative cells so the hair cannot regrow. Because only follicles in the active growth phase contain enough pigment and live structure to be disabled, a single session treats only the share of hairs currently in that phase.
Spacing sessions roughly 4 to 6 weeks apart catches successive waves of follicles as they cycle into growth. The treatment
Cooling is applied as the laser passes over the area with a warm snapping sensation. Sessions run 15 to 45 minutes depending on the area.
Shed & return
Mild redness fades within hours, hair sheds gradually over the following days, and you return every 4 to 6 weeks to complete the series of 8.
